There are 7 billion people in this earth. As birthrates increase food production will decrease. Overpopulation can cause many problems such as limited housing, starvation, consumption of nautrual resources, airborn illnesses, pollution etc. These problems will keep getting worse if we don't act on it now. WE NEED TO CHANGE!

WHAT IS OVERPOPULATION?

overpopulation occurs when a species' population exceeds the carrying capacity of its ecological niche. It can result from an increase in births (fertility rate), a decline in the mortality rate, an increase in immigration, or an unsustainable biome and depletion of resources.

• 1800: 1 billion
• 1940: 2.3 billion
• 1970: 3.7 billion
• 2016: 7.4 billion
